Comedian Josh Johnson to perform two shows at Theater Amsterdam

American comedian Josh Johnson will bring his new show Comedy Band Camp to Theater Amsterdam on Sunday 28 June and Monday 29 June. Tickets go on sale Friday 6 March at 12:00 via mojo.nl/joshjohnson

The Comedy Band Camp tour is a blend of stand-up and live music that brings everyone in the room together as one big band, letting you experience the nostalgia of a summer camp. Josh Johnson never had that experience himself, which is why he wants to create it together with his audience.

With more than 10 million followers across his social media, Johnson was called “the funniest man on the internet” by WIRED. He is an Emmy-nominated writer, stand-up comedian, actor, and NAACP Award winner.

Johnson is a rotating host and correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy and Peabody Award–winning program The Daily Show.

He is also a prolific writer and performer who releases weekly stand-up sets on his YouTube channel, which has amassed more than half a billion views. In 2025, he uploaded more than 38 hours of stand-up material from his live shows to his channel.

His growing popularity hasn’t gone unnoticed in the Netherlands either: in June 2025, Josh Johnson also performed twice at a completely sold-out Theater Amsterdam.
