Theater Amsterdam opened its doors on 8 May 2014. The opening coincided with the début performance of the play ANNE, which was attended by King Willem-Alexander. The theatre lies on the IJ river in the Westelijke Houthavens, on the edge of the Amsterdam district of Jordaan. With an auditorium covering 4,200m2, Theater Amsterdam offers a unique opportunity for large scenery and the most up-to-date theatre techniques. Take the A1/A2/A4 towards Amsterdam. On the A10 (West) take exit S102 (towards Westpoort/Centrum). Then follow Transformatorweg, which runs over the viaduct into Spaarndammerdijk. Take the left hand lane and turn left at the traffic lights, onto Archangelweg. Then straight on, taking the 5th right turn onto the Koivistokade. You will then see Theater Amsterdam’s car park on your right, after the bus station.

Combination of public transport and walking distance to Theater Amsterdam:
From Amsterdam Central, the buses 48 and 248 (terminus Koivistokade) stop at the car park from Theater Amsterdam, on the corner of Koivistokade/Danzigerbocht. The journey time from Amsterdam CS is about 15 minutes. The departure point for buses 48 and 248 is located on the IJ-side of Amsterdam Central.

You can park your car in the parking garage next to the theatre for € 2,50 per half hour (€ 30,- for a whole day) from Monday till Saturday. On Sundays the costs are € 3,- per hour and € 20,- for a whole day. The entrance is located at the crossroads of the Koivistokade/Minervahavenweg (1013AP) in Amsterdam.
- Park your car for € 1,- per 24 hours (starting after 10:00 AM) at P+R Sloterdijk, take bus 22 and leave at bus stop Zaanstraat.
- Park your car for € 1,- per 25 hours (starting after 10:00 AM) at P+R Bos en Lommer, take bus 21 to haarlemmerplein, transfer to bus 22 and leave at bus stop Zaanstraat.
- Par your car for a maximun of € 20,- per 24 hours at Parking Centrum Oosterdok, take bus (2)48 and leave at bus stop Koivistokade.

The theatre offers a number of parking spaces for disabled customers. These parking spaces are only available to holders of a disability parking permit (GPK) and cannot be reserved. Holders of disability parking permits can park in the West district, around Theater Amsterdam, free of charge.
When you are looking for a place to eat before, or after, a show in Theater Amsterdam, there are several good options in the neighbourhood. For example restaurant ZA Amsterdam which offers you high end cocktails and surprising food creations. Pont 13 is a transformed ferry with a sunny outside terrace. The REM Eiland is also a good restaurant which maybe has the best view of Amsterdam!
