You mention the name of your event and everyone knows what it is about. The target audience feels like they have to be there. And at the event itself, visitors feel connected with each other. Does all of this apply to your event? Then you have your branding in order. How do you ensure that your event becomes an rock-solid brand? 8 tips!

Why event branding is so important
With event branding, you show what your event stands for. It reflects the values of your event and the organization behind it. Good branding ensures that the target audience quickly recognizes an event, remembers it for a long time, and even identifies with it. Quite important, right? So there is work to be done, because branding is something you do in all areas. From the website to the emails, from the banners at the event location to the aftermovie, and from the speakers to the snacks. With these 8 tips, your event branding will be as solid as a rock.
Tip 1: know your target audience
Good event branding stands or falls with knowing your target audience well. What are their values and what do they come to get at the event? How do they like to be addressed and what do they find beautiful? If you know the answer to these questions, you can ensure that the appearance and content of your event seamlessly align with your target audience.
Tip 2: what’s in a name
Spend time and attention on coming up with a catchy name for your event. Names like ‘A night at the Magnum Mansion’ (Unilever) and ‘The Transformation Game’ (Tata Steel) stick in the mind better than, for example, '100 years of angling association Beet'.

Tip 3: online branding
A large part of your event branding happens online. After all, that is where most people get to know your event. Ensure a catchy visual identity online. The use of colors, fonts, the logo, and images exude the message of your event. And that also applies to the tone of voice in your texts on your site, in your app, on social media, and in emails.
Tip 4: on site everything is taken care of down to the last detail
The place where event branding really comes to full fruition is, of course, the event itself. Posters, billboards, visuals on screens, and even the signage: all excellent opportunities to convey the brand. Experience elements are slightly more out of the box. Think of walking actors with an act or the name of your event in large letters. People take photos with them and share them on social media. And that means more exposure and therefore strengthening your event brand.

Tip 5: utilize social media
The previous tips already hinted at it: social media offer endless opportunities for the branding of your event. Choose channels that fit your target audience and share content there that triggers sharing and liking.
Tip 6: be consistent
Whether it's your website, emails, social media, or the posters at the event itself: make sure you are consistent in all your communications. A recognizable message, tone of voice, and colors contribute to the brand experience of your event.
Tip 7: think of details
When it comes to event branding, too: it's the little things that do it. A pastry with your logo on it, a fun gadget that visitors can take home, or super slick merchandising. These kinds of things make an impression and ensure that people do not quickly forget your event.

Tip 8: take your visitors seriously
A brand is not static, but rather always in motion. Therefore, take the opinion of your target audience seriously. So listen to their feedback, follow discussions on social media, and view results of satisfaction surveys. Your visitors partly determine what your event brand stands for.
